After a quick break to paint some pumpkins, BML GWC is back, and we are hard at work researching our selected topic for our Community Impact Project - Books! The girls learned this week about reputable internet searches and how to find good and reliable sources to use in their project research. We had girls researching top books for certain age groups, the importance of books in learning, and the history of books. Using this research, our girls thought about a target audience. And our girls decided on...
STUDENTS! We even had a suggestion to make a site that can be used and presented in schools. Our girls love field trips. :-) The girls then got to workin' on their tutorials. These included app development in Thunkable, coding a chat bot in Python, and more. We also learned about Haiyan Zhang, the head of innovation at Microsoft, who encouraged us to find like-minded people to work with, to play with new technologies, and to find problems in our communities that need solving.
